December 2018 Phaser Code Bundle

Published on 30th November 2018

Hi Phaser backers!

I'm pleased to announce that the first set of exclusive Phaser code examples are now available to download. Attached to this post you'll find a zip file. Just grab it, unzip it to a local folder, open the README and get started. It's a complete source bundle including project runner, so you can 'npm run start' to fire it up.

Included in this month's bundle are 10 examples covering different aspects of Phaser 3. There is code for handling horizontal, vertical and free-form swipe gestures, camera panning with the mouse, a complete library for custom scroll bars with lots of configuration options, some nice little special effects and finally a complete Scene Builder app. Within the app you can press L to load the current map, or create one from scratch.

All code is written in ES6, so modern browsers only please! Also, it's using the latest cutting-edge master build of Phaser (also included). This is all covered in the Read Me, along with more details, so please do actually read it.

I'm sorry this bundle isn't in a git repo yet. You won't believe how much time I've spent trying out the various different git hosting options. I started with GitHub, but it can't offer 'private' repos unless you're all invited as full collaborates of the project. GitLab was better, it had great role management, but no way to import users on-mass. I would have had to manually enter all several hundred of you, one by one! Codebase HQ had great roles support and a nice API to manage importing users, but a really old-style interface full of things you just don't need like Time tracking! So, I'm still on the hunt for the perfect way to give you all access to a private repo. For now, sorry, but a zip file will have to do :)

If you've any comments, or suggestions for future examples, please throw them below.

Happy coding!
