We are pleased to announce that OpenUK has honoured Phaser creator Richard Davey in its 2024 New Year's Honours List for his contributions to Open Source Software.

The OpenUK Honours List recognises the 'Social Influencers of Open Source' in the UK. The list is compiled by OpenUK, a not-for-profit organisation which supports open source software, open data and open hardware in the UK.

OpenUK's purpose is to "Develop UK leadership and Global Collaboration in Open Technology" by:

  • Empowering the Open Technology community in the UK with a cohesive voice;
  • Creating a legal and policy environment for Open Technology to thrive in the UK; and
  • Championing learning, education and skills in Open Technology in the UK.

The New Year's Honours list is a British tradition, marking the achievement of extraordinary people in the UK. As OpenUK celebrates its third such list King Charles III celebrates his first. The Honours system is designed to recognise contribution, achievement and service.
